  1. HydroTilt XL - iPhone
  2. Slap Happy - iPhone

This is the title menu in Hydrotilt XL. The game is for the iPhone and iPod touch, and i was mostly involved in doing engine work such as writing most of the Graphics Engine ( OpenGLES ) and some of the level loading and conversions. The engine we created for the game is very advanced and extremely optimized for the iPhone, whilst still maintaining a very clean architecture.

This is a screen shot from within the level editor of Hydrotilt XL. This editor consists of almost all the same features that were in the game and was mostly my project. Overall working on Hydrotilt has given me a great amount of respect for the sheer power of the iPhone, and my ability to optimize code has vastly improved in working on a limited platform.

This particular project was more a toy than a full on game. That said, there was a lot of interesting toolchain work which was done on this Virtual Pet Abuse application. I was responsible for much of the animation toolchain in the game, and it runs on top of the refactored engine from HydroTilt. Although being a considerably smaller project, we had a lot of fun working on it, and the challenge of fitting all those high res ( for the iPhone ) animations into a 10mb app was very enjoyable!
